First of all, i would like to tell you, that I decided to change the language of my blog to english. This decision was made because I gained so much followers on instagram from abroad during my stay in Thailand and Cambodia and because I decided to specialize in travelling on the blog.
To give you a first glimpse of my journey I chose to write a hotel review about the View Point Resort Koh Tao because it is one of the most amazing hotels I have ever been to.
The View Point Resort Koh Tao is situated on the edge of the wonderful bay Chalok Baan Kao. This bay and the area around it are not as crowded as the islands biggest beach Sairre, but still big enough to go out for a nice dinner in the evening and have a couple of drinks afterwards. But let me say straight away, if you want to party, this is the wrong area for you. The bay has a nice beach but certainly not the nicest beach of Koh Tao. In any case Chalok Baan Kao is a good starting point to explore the southern and eastern area of the island.
The View Point Resort Koh Tao is built onto a hill and consists of many small seperate buildings, which are connected by many steps. The whole hotel is beautifully incorporated into the nature. When you arrive you are first drawn in by the wonderful reception of the View Point Resort Koh Tao. It is totally outside and does not have any walls. It simply is suitable in the surronding jungle. There are a few room categories: pool villa, deluxe see view cottage, deluxe garden view cottage and garden view cottage. We had a garden view cottage. The restaurant and the pool are located directly on the beach and there is also a direct access to Chalok Baan Kao.
As already stated we slept in a garden view cottage. It is, as the name suggests, a little bungalow in the garden. Inside you have everything you need like a bed with mosquito net, a TV, a fridge and enough room for clothes and all your staff. A big crystall door guides towards the terrace, which is hardly visible for other people, therefore it is possible to sip the evening drink in complete tranquility. To get to the bathroom you have to go to an other small terrace first, from where you can go into the bathroom. Is is completely made from natural materials and gives the feeling to be outside. We felt totally comfortable and happy with our little romantic garden view cottage at View Point Resort Koh Tao and could not have imagined anything better.
Because we wanted to try out as much as possible we only had breakfast and dinner in the View Point Resort Koh Tao once. But both were delicious. You have to state your whish for breakfast the previous day and can decide between a main and a side dish. I chose chocolate pancakes and a fruit platter and my boyfriend an omlette and vegetables. The rest, like coffee, tea, bread, butter and jam is served as a buffet. Dinner is a la carte. I must say that it is a little bit more expensive then other Restaurants, but the atmosphere and quality of food are so worth it. The view from the restaurant is simply stunning and you can sit there hours just staring at the sea.
The View Point Resort Koh Tao has its own pool area and spa. Transportation to the city is provided when you need it. Unfortunately we did not have time for the spa, but enjoyed the pool with its seaview every day in the evening during our stay.
Summed up we liked the View Point Resort Koh Tao best during our backpacking trip. The stuff was friendly and eagered and the hotel grounds suited our taste exactly. I would definetly recommend it and it will be my one and only hotel choice if I go to Koh Tao again.
